What is Gandhamardan Academy?
Gandhamardan Academy is a public charitable organization working towards promoting quality education in science and use of scienctific methods to protect nature and natural species. It is named after the famous Gandhamardan hills of western Odisha known for its rich medicinal plants. The official head quarter of Trust is situated at Gania Pali, a village in the district Bargarh, of state Odisha, India, famous for its 4th century AD Buddhist monument, Muchhalinda Buddha Bihar.
The Academy is founded by Dr. Kartika Padhan, a biomedical scientist working in the field of immunology, presently residing in the USA. Born and raised in the same rural village of Gania Pali, he made it his lifelong mission to create an academy to promote science among underprevileged students. Gandhamardan Academy of Science (GAS) is being operational at a rental property at Rajapada, Padampur, (25 km away from Gania Pali). GAS is solely dedicated to promote creative education in science. Going forward three other institutions: Save Atmosphere and Nature society (SAANS), Gandhamardan Herbal and Academic Research (GHAR), and Social and Humanitarian Assistance (SAHA) will be developed under the Trust.
